FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NURTURE NETWORK |
What benefits can I
expect from participating in The Nurture Network?
Opportunity for internet-based fellowship with other Network ministries through
the Nurture Network Group Forum;
Access to regular Words of Grace and Truth articles from Cheryl McGrath, sent by
email through the Network Newsletter;
Prayer support from the Network's intercession team and other members of the
Network. .
Access to personal mentoring and counsel provided by Cheryl McGrath and other
GSLM leadership if desired;
Is there any annual
fee, tithe or regular donation collected from Nurture Network ministries
by Great South Land
Ministries?
The Network was set up for
the purposes of mutual fellowship, prayer, equipping, accountability and
mentoring as required. There is no fee or tithe required to become part of the
Network or to remain within it. In this regard The Nurture Network is different
from many other Christian Networks who require an annual fee in exchange for
their "covering" of your ministry. We consider this practice to be
unscriptural. Nor does GSLM endorse the tithing doctrine, which has no
relevance to New Covenant believers. We do strongly encourage and practice the
teaching of Jesus that that as we have freely received, so are we to freely
give. We appreciate any free-will donations of any amount which help enable us
to continue to serve the Lord without hindrance, but the Network is based on
building relationship, not building a bank account. Essentially, we believe it
is both the covenantal responsibility and the privilege of the Lord Himself to
provide our financial needs, though we recognise He may choose to do so from
diverse sources.
Similarly, any ministry
leader seeking membership of the Network primarily as a source of financial
support will be disappointed and would be well-advised to seek fellowship with
larger, wealthier ministries. The focus and purpose of The Nurture Network is
to provide spiritual support only ~ financial support is not inferred, and
cannot be provided through the Network.
Will Great South
Land Ministries provide covering for me and my ministry?
The scriptures clearly teach
that there is one mediator between man and God, the Man Christ Jesus (1
Timothy 2:5). Therefore GSLM does not endorse a "covering" doctrine. Our heart is rather to come alongside
other ministries as travailing servant-leaders until we see Christ formed.
Can I be ordained
through The Nurture Network?
No, Great South Land
Ministries is non-denominational and cannot provide official ordination
credentials.
If I become part of
the Network will GSLM leaders conduct ministry in my church, group or nation?
While we do travel
nationally and internationally as the Lord directs, GSLM cannot guarantee to
minister on location in any specific place or at any specific time. We CAN say
that ministry invitations from our Nurture Network friends take priority and
will always be prayerfully considered. It is our great desire and hope to meet
and minister among as many of our Network members as we possibly can, and we
will do so as the Lord leads and provides. However, other factors such as the
cost of international travel, health issues, family needs, etc., must also be
considered and it is not always possible for us to accept every invitation.
If and when it becomes
possible for us to minister among our Network members within reasonable
proximity to one another, we would request and expect those ministries to
co-operate together to support such a ministry visit on a regional basis.
Is There Any Reason
Why My Application Might Be Declined?
GSLM reserves the right to
decline affiliation with The Nurture Network to any ministry in the following
cases:
a) when we feel that GSLM is not in a
position to meet the expectations and/or needs of the applicant ministry;
b) when we believe the fundamental
values of an applicant ministry are not compatible with the stated values,
purposes and goals of The Nurture Network.
How Long Can My
Ministry Stay In the Network?
Membership of The Nurture
Network is open-ended and not subject to any specific time frame, with the
following provisions:
a) Each Network ministry remains free to
discontinue participation in The Nurture Network whenever they feel membership
of the Network is not meeting their needs. In the event of such a decision we
would appreciate your advice by email and we will gladly release you with our
sincere blessings and prayers for your future growth in Christ.
b) GSLM
reserves the right to terminate membership of the Network to any member
ministry we believe is demonstrating dishonest, deceptive or spiritually
abusive behaviour towards ourselves, another network ministry, or the Body of
Christ in general. In the unusual event of such a necessity, notice will be
given by email outlining the reasons for our decision.
d) GSLM also reserves the right to
terminate membership of the Network to any ministry who we feel is not
sincerely demonstrating a commitment to the agreement outlined within the
application form.
