Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.

Heb. 13:12-14

Ministering the Resurrection Life of Christ

to the Church That Meets from House to House

Few would deny the Christian Church in western nations is currently experiencing a season of change, upheaval and transformation on a major scale. Multitudes of sincere believers, hungering for a simpler, more authentic expression of Body-life, are departing the institutional system in search of a church model closer to that patterned by Jesus and the early apostles. Disillusioned with institutional Christianity, many are asking "where do I fit in the Body of Christ?" As a result, groups of believers all over the world are gathering in houses and other non-traditional settings as they seek an expression of Christianity devoid of denominational hierarchy and trappings. Outside the Gate is our response to this emerging house church movement.

However, it is one thing for believers to come out of the system, but quite another for the system to come out of us. In the year 2000, after nearly forty years of serving Christ in denominational Christianity within mainstream, Pentecostal and Charismatic churches, the Lord called me out of the institutional system to wait on Him for future direction. Soon others were sent to join me with the same directive. As a result, a small house church was born, the nucleus of which later became a diverse team of people who now serve the wider Body of Christ through Great South Land Ministries. Having walked through the transition process for several years now (often painfully), I believe we in this ministry have valuable and important things to share about Body Life "outside the gate".

Outside the Gate has therefore been established to offer support and encouragement for

leaders in independent house church settings.

"...for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God."

(Heb. 11:10)

So, you've somehow found yourself leading a house church!

You're surrounded by a diverse group of gifted personalities.

They may be from various denominational backgrounds and at different places in their spiritual growth. All are excited about the journey ahead and eager to do this "new thing". And just about every one of them is carrying spiritual wounds - some very deep.

How are you going to avoid simply re-creating what you all desire to leave behind?

Do you really want to move with the Spirit, or simply move buildings?

Hmmmm....could it be this isn't going to be as easy as it first looked?

Help! Is there anyone out there........?
